Our story
A family, a grill, and a whole lotta love
It started with ice cream in 2000. Rob's uncle bought the first van and spent years working school fairs and gala days around Sydney. When it came time to hand it on, Rob and Christine put their hands up — they wanted to take it on and build something out of it. He passed them the keys, they kept the name, and Mr Ricky is three vans now.
Porkie's is their own addition, seven years back: a second-hand trailer, a borrowed cast iron, and the stubborn belief that a burger should taste like someone actually gave a damn. That's two grill trucks now, five across the yard all up — which means we can usually say yes to a date, and take on jobs a single-truck operator has to knock back.
We know our suppliers by first name. We know regulars by their order. These days we spend most weekends parked up at weddings, birthdays and work sites across Sydney, feeding a few hundred people at a time and cleaning up after ourselves before we go.
No frills, no gimmicks. Just honest tucker from a husband and wife who've been up since four-thirty seasoning the grill.
